RA7R Heavy Duty Slide Gets Beefed Up

Aug 12, 2013   //   Product review  //  No Comments

Specialised RA7R

We do a lot of bespoke work for customers, one of which was a re-development of our RA7R heavy duty slide.  In this instance the customer asked for a unique hole-fixing pattern, using counter sunk M8 holes on the outer beam, which was due to concerns over the extreme shock and vibration the application would have to face during its working life.

In response Chambrelan re-created the RA7R heavy duty slide, by nitro-carburising the slide, increasing it’s surface hardness, which was needed to counter the problem of brinelling, which in time would twist and break a normal slide under the same conditions.

The RA7 heavy duty slide has always been one of our most popular slides, chosen by vehicle builders and manufactures the RA7 heavy duty slide has a history of being an excellent performer, meeting rigorous work cycles without buckling, twisting or brinnelling, which occurs cheaper slides.  The RA7 heavy duty slide has been designed to deliver extreme loads in extreme environments.  Not the heavy duty slide for you?  Our range of heavy duty slides cover everything from light duty aluminium slides, designed for electrical applications and where precision movement is required to massive heavy duty stainless steel slides built for extreme loads on vehicle builders for the military and defence applications.

Our slides have been used for a huge range of applications including rolling stock, defence, off shore, manufacturing  and food processing.  Our slides are favoured due to their engineering precision and load carrying capacities, what’s more they’re easy to fit and easy to maintain.

In addition we offer a slam lock drawer front for customers who require heavy duty drawer slides and in this respect our slam lock drawer front complete our offer of drawer slides.  If you need any advice or looking at sourcing something we don’t have we’d be delighted to help you choose the heavy duty slide for you.

Linear Rails Use Ball Bearings

Jul 15, 2013   //   Product review  //  No Comments
linear rails

Re-circulating ball bearing carriers spread loads more efficiently

Let’s talk balls.  Specifically steel balls, the ones you find in our unique carrier system, which we use across our entire range of linear rails.  Unlike other systems our carriers use a number circulating ball bearings housed in a carrier that spread  loads.

By spreading the weight over a number of ball bearings, we see an improvement in the operational use, which a standard ‘roller system’ lacks.  In addition when carrying heavier loads a ‘roller system’ tends to ‘buck’ and bend the rail itself which will cause jamming and operational failure.

With a raft of new products, including linear rails and heavy duty slides, being constantly designed and launched on the market, Chambrelan are considered leaders in the linear rail and heavy duty slide markets.

Chambrelan’s range of linear rails have been used by manufacturers and vehicle builders across the world.  Many of our linear rails are used by Rolling Stock applications and are favoured for their ease of use, their strength and durability.  The unique roller ball bearing system allows for a smoother and easier operation, especially where sliding doors are required.  For materials handling, where manufacturing lines are fed or loaded our linear rails can be fitted with our latest roller movement which allows the carrier to be tightened to fit, according to the application’s requirements.  To view our full range of linear rails visit www.linearrails.co.uk where customers can order and pay online.  Should customers need a more specialised linear rail we can also help so call us directly on 01746 761114.  Our linear rails and telescopic slides use only the best materials suitable for a range of applications and with our rails coming in a different range of sizes and lengths in differing materials we know we have the linear rail for you.

Heavy Duty Drawer Slide Now Bi-Directional

Go Both Ways

Anyone would think it’s Christmas with the amount of new heavy duty drawer slides tumbling out of the R&D department of Chambrelan and the RA7S is no exception.

As one of the most popular heavy duty drawer slides in the market the RA7 has always created a name for itself due to it’s over extension and massive load capacity.  However, the latest addition to the RA7 collection is a sequentially operated heavy duty slide.  A clever but simple mechanism coordinates the travel of each beam extending and retracting the slide beams in a set sequence.

This ‘cycle’ is designed to reduce ‘ball-cage creep’, lower the operating forces and generally improve the ease of operation when moving heavy loads.  Ideal for materials handling applications, emergency service vehicles and military vehicle builds, the latest RA7 aims at taking the existing design and taking it further.

The RA7 is one of Chambrelan’s most popular heavy duty drawer slide, capable of carrying extreme loads repeatedly it is chosen for its endurance, long life cycle and the ease of fitting and maintaining the heavy duty slide.  Made from zinc plated steel the RA7 heavy duty drawer slide is a reinforced three beam slide housing a run of steel ball bearings which actively spread loads and makes the heavy duty drawer slide’s operating abilities a lot smoother, meaning even when carrying the most extreme loads the RA7 can be operated smoothly, without bucking and ball cage creep.

Going the other way!!

Chambrelan have also updated their website to feature a real time stock programme, allowing customers to see availability in real time.

This web feature has been designed to let customers have better control over their stock programmes.  For any further information on our entire range of heavy duty drawer slides and linear rail motion systems visit www.chambrelan.com or alternatively contact us directly on 01746 761 114 we’re only too happy to help and advise on your heavy duty slide requirements.

Heavy duty drawer slides and linear motion new end stops

heavy duty drawer slides and linear motion systems

Red stops, Blue Stops

Many of you who buy our heavy duty drawer slides and linear motion systems regularly will notice that there’s been a daub of colour to our heavy duty drawer slides and linear motion systems, by way of two rather tastefully coloured ‘end stops’.  This isn’t Chambrelan’s way of brightening up your stores, but in fact an attempt at distinguishing our stainless steel slides from our steel slides.

So just for your records the red end stops represent our stainless steel heavy duty drawer slides or linear motion systems and the blue end stops represent our steel heavy duty drawer slides or linear motion systems.

Our range of linear motion systems can be cut to any length and fitted with one of our two carriers, either our steel ball bearing carrier or our duel roller carrier.

For further information on the these or on any of our heavy duty slides and sliding systems please visit www.chambrelan.com or alternatively contact Jeremy Binnington on 07868 971 089 or Tony Macis on 07868 971 089.
