Linear Rails – Check out our Range

Linear Rails – Light Duty Linear Motion Rail:

To make things easier for customers we’ve broken our complete collection of linear rail motion systems into light, medium and heavy-duty ranges.  This month we’ll be examining what products make up our light duty range.

At the lighter end of this range is the Light Duty (LD) light D409.  Made from aluminium rail, this is a feather-weight linear motion rail, perfect for the electronics industry and smaller precision focused applications, where loads are slight, but a smooth regular operation is essential.

Sandwiched in the middle of our light range is the Medium Duty (MD) light D48 linear motion rail our medium LD linear motion rail.  Again made from aluminium this rail is perfect for lighter loads and fewer duty cycles, whilst maintaining a consistent performance and being a very price conscious linear motion rail.

At the strong end of our Light duty range is the Heavy Duty (HD) light E28 linear motion rail.  Made from zinc plated steel, the E28’s slim profile and exceptionally smooth operation means it can fit into the tightest space envelope and is ideal for applications like sliding doors, machine guarding and carrying lighter loads on a vertical plane.

All our carriers use recirculating ball bearings, which spread loads and allows a smoother operation.  In addition we’ve just launched a new roller carrier, which can be tightened to fit the movement.  we can cut our linear motion rails to any size.  Looking for something a little more durable?  For a full range of linear motion products visit  we’re here to help and advise on any aspect of your application and if you need something prototyping we’d be happy to help.

ST558 Heavy Duty Drawer Slide Bridges Gap

Mar 6, 2013   //   Product review  //  No Comments

Introducing Chambrelan’s New 4 beam Heavy Duty Slide

A gap in our product range and a gap in the heavy duty drawer slide market has meant our designers and engineers have created a monster four beam over extending heavy duty drawer slide made from cold drawn stainless steel section, unlike anything on the market.

Perfect for nuclear, ship born and pharmaceutical applications, which need stainless steel drawer slides for their strength, their durability and their non corrosive surface treatment, making them a perfect choice for applications that require a huge load capacity and increased extension.

To give you an example, for a standard ST558 heavy duty drawer slide at 500mm closed length with an extension of 700mm has a load capacity of 116kg’s per pair in the major axis.  This heavy duty drawer slide has been designed and manufactured to deal with extreme loads in extreme working environments.

The ST558 heavy duty drawer slide bridges the gap between our lighter duty slides and the needs of extreme heavy duty slides with enormous extension that can still handle the massive loads demanded of them.  For a full range of our heavy duty slide range click here.

The ST558 is almost exactly the same as the RA554, except it’s made from cold drawn stainless section

Since the launch of the ST558 has only just been announced, we’ve linked to it’s brother the RA554, which has exactly the same dimensions except the only difference is that the RA554 is a zinc plated carbon steel slide.

Electro-Polished Heavy Duty Drawer Slides

Spot the Difference

Currently all our stock heavy duty drawer slides are supplied using a standard mill finish on the sections.  However, a mill finish does not give a bright shiny surface finish that one might think is standard as a stainless steel product.  Some customers in the medical, nuclear or boat building markets require a polished finish and so we have introduced an Electro-polished treatment for our stainless steel slides that provides a bright shine to the surface, required for the more exacting stainless steel applications.

Electro-polishing, or as it’s also known, electrochemical polishing, is an electro chemical process that enhances the finish of our heavy duty slides, making them easier to clean and more in keeping with a stainless steel finish used by some applications.

Our range of heavy duty drawer slides, telescopic slides and precision guided slides are famously strong and used extensively by military applications, vehicle builders, manufacturing and private individuals for camper conversions and retrofitting vehicles.  We have made our range from a number of different materials, from aluminium light duty slides, made for cash points and ATM dispensers, through to the medium duty range made from cold drawn steel section and finally our stainless steel slides which are the very heavy duty end of our drawer slides.  More importantly our range of heavy duty slides are constantly being updated and modified, we’re constantly finding new ways to improve our range, whether it’s different coloured end stops, perfecting a new anti-corrosive finish or developing new sliding systems Chambrelan is dedicated to manufacturing and supplying the very best linear motion systems and heavy duty slides.

Meet the Heavy Duty Slide Guy

Jan 4, 2013   //   Product review  //  No Comments

We asked him questions and he gave us answers

As Director of Chambrelan UK Jeremy Binnington shares his thoughts on the next 12 months and discusses what challenges and goals Chambrelan UK aims to achieve.

1.  How’s it all going?

Not bad considering we’ve survived the end of the world, Christmas and New year.

2.  Chambrelan UK have been operating now for almost three years, what’s been the biggest successes?

I’d say one of the biggest successes has been to take Chambrelan to market in the first place.  Working from a small localised office we are now about to move into new premises which will enable us to continue to develop and grow the UK and overseas markets.

3.  Developing new products and services is integral for business, what future developments does Chambrelan planned?

You’re right and yes we’re looking at developing a number of different heavy duty sliding systems and linear rail motion systems, but sadly we can’t reveal those just yet.  However we will be alerting customers over the next two months about our latest product launch.  It’ll be one to watch out for.

4.  Do you have any market predictions for the future?

There has been an increase in heavy duty slide competitors in the UK, but we believe by offering the right product, at the right price with guaranteed delivery and security of supply we will continue to grow Chambrelan UK’s presence in the marketplace.  Interestingly we’ve increased our share of the export market and now supply a greater number of countries than ever before, meaning larger contracts and the opening of new markets and sectors, which has been really interesting for us.

5.  What would you say are the biggest challenges facing Chambrelan over the next 12 months?

We’ve increased our focus on the export markets and we hope to build on those relationships as we go forward.  Also we are going to really focus on pushing our linear rail products.  Our new premises will mean that we can reduce delivery times from 2 weeks for standard items to 48 hours and for non standard items, which previously took 4 weeks delivery time, we will also aim to deliver them within 5 working days, but we hope to reduce this further to 48 hours once we’ve settled into our new premises.
